Overview

GOAL
Conceptual future looking explorations into navigational aids for passengers in airport terminals

ROLE
UX Designer, Researcher (Team of 3 UXers)

KEY PROBLEMS TO SOLVE
Embrace of Internet-of-Things and explore how the environment and items the user carry can drive an experience that helps users navigate to their gate.

Concepting started with contextual observations of travelers and their pain points while navigating at Atlanta International Airport.

Side note: If you want the TSA to interview you, stand around the security line with a note book taking notes on user behavior.

Travelers can get custom information about their travel, by scanning their ticket (RFID or barcode) at stations throughout the airports.

Utilizing areas that naturally have a narrow passage (a moving sidewalk) an RFID, Beacon, or similar technology can be used to identify travelers as they naturally move about. This can then be used to project arrows at their feet or change nearby displays to show navigation related information
